why I built it
The problem I'm interested in
The drawing was never the slow part. Turning a sheet of artwork into a sellable collection — cutting every piece out, resizing, checking edges, packaging it up — is hours of clicking. The build is the pipeline that does that work; the collections are what comes out of it.
What I built
A pipeline that takes artwork through slicing, image processing and packaging, and a storefront side that lists what comes out of it.
Masters and generated files are kept apart: private storage for the originals, public storage only for the previews.
What it does
- Slices a sheet of artwork into individual pieces
- Generates the derivatives and previews a listing needs
- Packages a collection into the download a customer receives — one collection ships 27 clipart files plus 3 frames
- Keeps masters in private storage, with only previews made public
The thinking(1 note)
The expensive part of this work was never the drawing. It was everything after it, which is exactly the part a machine is good at.
Where it is
Not open to the public yet — this is the build as it stands, not a launch announcement.
